Dan LaPlaca, MEd, ATC, Physical Therapist

Dan is an owner and co-founder of PRO Physical Therapy, Inc. He holds degrees from Plymouth State University of the University System of New Hampshire, University of Virginia, and Medical University of South Carolina. He has experience in several healthcare settings and patient populations as a Physical Therapist. As a Certified Athletic Trainer, he has worked with athletes at all levels from recreational to professionals. His professional memberships include both the National and South Carolina chapters of the APTA.

Ginger G. Parton, Physical Therapy Assistant

Ginger received her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from Greenville Technical College in 2008. She started her PTA career with PRO Physical Therapy in December 2008. Ginger also has a Bachelors Degree in Biology that she received from Gardner-Webb University in May 2000. Ginger and her husband, Ben, reside in Rutherford County with their two small children Michaela and Ali.

Leslie Whiteside, Physical Therapist Assistant

Leslie graduated from South College in Asheville in 2012 with her Physical Therapist Assistant license. She has great manual skills and has a strong interest in neck rehabilitation. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outside and raising her 4 year old daughter.


Steve Ahrens, Physical Therapist

Steve Ahrens, is the newest physical therapist to join the team at PRO Physical Therapy in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Steve, grew up in Horseheads, New York. He graduated from West Point in 1984, and served as a Ranger-Qualified Infantry Officer until 1989. Steve pursued his passion for health and medicine earning a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1992. He has 25 years of experience in orthopedics and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This gives him a unique set of skills that helps him meet the needs of not only athletes, but all his clients. He has helped numerous professional and Olympic athletes with their rehabilitation. In his spare time, he is often seen exercising. Steve is a highly competitive marathoner and Ironman tri-athlete. He also loves to travel and is an avid adventure seeker. We are proud to have Steve on our team.
