Dan LaPlaca, PT, DPT, MEdDoctor of Physical Therapy
Dan is an owner and co-founder of PRO Physical Therapy, Inc. He holds degrees from Plymouth State University of the University System of New Hampshire, University of Virginia, and Medical University of South Carolina. He has experience in several healthcare settings and patient populations as a Physical Therapist. As a Certified Athletic Trainer, he has worked with athletes at all levels from recreational to professionals. His professional memberships include both the National and South Carolina chapters of the APTA.
Erin Alley, MPTPhysical Therapist
Erin earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University where she played soccer and was an All American lacrosse player. Her Graduate Degree in Physical Therapy was earned at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Erin has expertise in orthopedics, myofascial release, gait and balance problems, injury prevention and women's health vestibular.
Katharine Davis, PT, DPTDoctor of Physical Therapy
Katie graduated from East Carolina University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2019. Katie was raised primarily in Wake Forest, North Carolina. She grew up playing basketball and continued her athletic career with Anderson University's Women's Basketball team for 4 years. She fell in love with the physical therapy profession following 2 ACL injuries while in school and moved to the upstate while earning her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Anderson University in 2016. Katie is also qualified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has a special interest in treating neurological conditions as well as orthopedic and athletic populations. She enjoys lifting weights, playing basketball, line dancing and spending time in her church community.
Melissa Davis, MPTPhysical Therapist
Melissa Davis earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in physical therapy from Western Carolina University. She has diverse experience in orthopedic physical therapy as well as specialty training in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, including certification in LST BIG. Her expertise allows her to help those facing muscle, bone and joint issues and neurological conditions of all types.
Floyd Graber, PT, DPT, ATCPhysical Therapist
Floyd Graber received his BS in Athletic Training at Western Carolina University in 2017. During his time as an athletic training student he gained experience working with athletes in a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, football, soccer and wrestling at the high school and collegiate levels. Floyd transitioned directly into physical therapy at Western Carolina University where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2020. As a Physical Therapy student, Floyd spent time studying orthopedic injuries in the WCU marching band and dance team, as well as helping develop group exercises for older adults at the YMCA. AS a therapist, he enjoys working with the orthopedic population as well as older adults. Floyd grew up in Polk County and is excited to be back as a working member of the community. He enjoys most outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing, biking and spending time with his beautiful wife and dogs.
Lori Geddings, OTOccupational Therapist
Lori attended undergraduate school at Georgia Southern University and she earned her Occupational Therapy degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She has experience in a variety of healthcare settings and wide range of patient populations. Her expertise includes orthopedics, hand injuries, splinting, stroke and general rehabilitation. Lori lives in Tryon with her husband Jay and her two beautiful children Jackson and Madison.
Karen Rodrigues Milazzo, OTR CLTOccupational Therapist
Karen Rodrigues Milazzo has practiced in many areas of Occupational Therapy and has specialized in hand and upper extremity therapy since 1975. Born near Newport, Rhode Island, she earned a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia with honors. Karen's most memorable position was at the Charleston Naval Hospital starting in the Persian Gulf Crisis where she received a National Commendation and plaque from the US Navy. In 2011, she received certification in Lymphedema treatment.
Karen 's interests outside of work revolve around family including travel in the US and abroad. Karen loves to sing and play guitar. In 2015 she was invited to sing with the Sweet Adelines International in Ireland and Scotland. Her other interests include sewing, knitting, crochet, art, swimming and short distance hiking and camping.
Tammy WarrenOffice Manager
Tammy has been a resident of Polk County for 21 years. She serves as the office manager for Columbus and Rutherfordton and the administrative assistant to the owner, Dan LaPlaca.
Nicole JohnsonInsurance Specialist
Nicole is a former admissions coordinator for a rehabilitation facility in Florida. She grew up in Rutherfordton County. In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing music and camping.
Heber NajeraLead Physical Therapy Aide
Heber graduated from Appalachian State University with a Degree in Health Science and Physical Education. He works as our lead therapy aide. On the weekends when he is not working, Heber loves to spend time with family and working out.
Dianne (Di) GreenTherapy Aide
After 30 years of teaching Elementary Physical Education in Polk, Buncombe and Henderson Counties, Di retired in June of 2013. She joined the PRO staff in 2014 and is currently a Physical Therapy Aide and Class Instructor. When not at PRO, Di stays busy at Tryon First Baptist Church singing in the choir, ringing handbells and serving as a Deacon. Di and her husband, Mike, have two grown daughters, Carrie and Jamie. Although Di has learned to love the mountains, she misses the Outer Banks. She grew up in Elizabeth City, NC and still makes that trip often to see her family.
Kim Simone PTA
Kim Simone earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Indian River State College in FL. She has diverse experience in orthopedic, neurological, as well as versed in circulatory systems addressed in physical therapy. Kim has specialty training and certified LSVT BIG program as well Micro Point Nuevo-stimulation for scar tissue and pain reduction. Her experience and training allows her to help those facing muscle, bone and joint issues as well neurological conditions of all types.
Louise (Lou) Hillenbrand, LMBTMassage Therapist
Lou graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1990 and specializes in deep tissue, neuromuscular, trigger-point and Swedish massage. In her spare time, she enjoys photography with a special interest in capturing nature and children/babies.
Rogelio NajeraPersonal Coach
Rogelio is currently a Personal Coach, Class Instructor and a Physical Therapy Aide. He has been living in Polk County since he was 10 years old. He graduated from Polk County High School and later got his personal training certification. In his spare time he likes to play and coach sports such as soccer, basketball and football. He also loves spending time with his friends and wife and daughter. He also enjoys working out.
