Dan LaPlaca, PT, DPT, MEdDoctor of Physical Therapy
Dan is an owner and co-founder of PRO Physical Therapy, Inc. He holds degrees from Plymouth State University of the University System of New Hampshire, University of Virginia, and Medical University of South Carolina. He has experience in several healthcare settings and patient populations as a Physical Therapist. As a Certified Athletic Trainer, he has worked with athletes at all levels from recreational to professionals. His professional memberships include both the National and South Carolina chapters of the APTA.
Erin Alley, MPTPhysical Therapist
Erin earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University where she played soccer and was an All American lacrosse player. Her Graduate Degree in Physical Therapy was earned at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Erin has expertise in orthopedics, myofascial release, gait and balance problems, injury prevention and women's health vestibular.
Nick Mang, PT, DPTDoctor of Physical Therapy
Nick Mang, who graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in August 2015 with his doctorate of physical therapy, is the newest member of the PRO Physical Therapy family. He was raised in Hendersonville, NC, and is happy to be back home in the mountains to serve those living near and around Columbus. Nick has experience working with clients who require skilled intervention for orthopedic-related issues, as well as individuals who have neurological conditions. He has a special interest in treating those with foot and ankle ailments and has begun the service of custom foot orthotic fabrication at an affordable rate. In his free time, Nick enjoys engaging in church activities, spending quality time with his family, hiking, playing basketball, and playing his trumpet. He is excited that he has begun his career at PRO Physical Therapy and desires to provide the best quality physical therapy services for the community.
Lori Geddings, OTOccupational Therapist
Lori attended undergraduate school at Georgia Southern University and she earned her Occupational Therapy degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She has experience in a variety of healthcare settings and wide range of patient populations. Her expertise includes orthopedics, hand injuries, splinting, stroke and general rehabilitation. Lori lives in Tryon with her husband Jay and her two beautiful children Jackson and Madison.
Melissa Davis, MPTPhysical Therapist
Melissa Davis earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in physical therapy from Western Carolina University. She has diverse experience in orthopedic physical therapy as well as specialty training in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, including certification in LST BIG. Her expertise allows her to help those facing muscle, bone and joint issues and neurological conditions of all types.
Hannah Crawford, PTAPhysical Therapist Assistant
Hannah graduated from the PTA program at South College in Asheville in 2014. She works in all areas of treatment in the physical therapy department, but really enjoys working with our aquatic therapy program here at PRO. Hannah, who is originally from Gaffney, SC, has been living in Polk County with her husband, Brad since 2013. She has two daughters, Hattie and Roselee. She enjoys her off time with the family.
Nancy CunninghamSenior Class Instructor Nancy graduated as a French major from Muhlenberg College, in Pennsylvania. After graduation she and her husband made their home in the U. S. Virgin Islands and Costa Rica, Central America for more than thirty years. Nancy's first foray into the health field was a Personal Trainer Certification from "El Instituto de Salud" (Institute of Health) in Costa Rica and later as an AAFA Certified Trainer. She has now been in the field for over fifteen years. The Carolinas have been home for the past 10 years.
Tammy WarrenOffice Manager
Tammy has been a resident of Polk County for 21 years. She serves as the office manager for Columbus and Rutherfordton and the administrative assistant to the owner, Dan LaPlaca.
Billie JordanMember Services Coordinator
Billie first came to PRO as a physical therapy patient after shoulder surgery. She is the Member Services Coordinator for the Fitness center and is the support staff for the Fitness Director and Personal Coaches. Billie spent most of her career in marketing and was a founding staff member of public radio station WNCW. She also worked as a textile design artist for 12 years. She enjoys family time, playing music, photography, hiking, traveling and camping.
Dianne (Di) GreenTherapy Aide
After 30 years of teaching Elementary Physical Education in Polk, Buncombe and Henderson Counties, Di retired in June of 2013. She joined the PRO staff in 2014 and is currently a Physical Therapy Aide and Class Instructor. When not at PRO, Di stays busy at Tryon First Baptist Church singing in the choir, ringing handbells and serving as a Deacon. Di and her husband, Mike, have two grown daughters, Carrie and Jamie. Although Di has learned to love the mountains, she misses the Outer Banks. She grew up in Elizabeth City, NC and still makes that trip often to see her family.
Louise (Lou) Hillenbrand, LMBTMassage Therapist
Lou graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1990 and specializes in deep tissue, neuromuscular, trigger-point and Swedish massage. In her spare time, she enjoys photography with a special interest in capturing nature and children/babies.
